Sueshiro Sano is a ninth-generation shipwright who has been creating incredible wooden products since he was in elementary school. In 2008 Sano put his skills to work to create his first wooden bicycle. His use of mahogany means the flex and responsiveness is far superior to a metal frame, allowing riders an elevated sense of control and increases pacing possibilities. The prototypes have been raced professionally and since 2008 Sano has has handcrafted 11 bicycles, trying to shave off 3 kilograms of weight from the design. The twelfth bicycle is now in production, amazing.
